Friends of the Brambleton Library (FOBL) is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity (federal tax ID number 82-2111430) that exists solely to support the Brambleton Library, located in Ashburn, VA. Each month, the Library hosts dozens of educational programs for adults, children and teens, including book clubs, educational presentations, story times, and other opportunities that encourage reading and community. Loudoun County funding supports the operation of the Library, but supplementation of its programs is funded by alternate sources— with FOBL being the primary one.
This past year FOBL supported various programs at the library, including purchasing the prize books for the Summer Reading Program and providing support for the Micro Art Gallery. FOBL funded various entertainment guests at programs, purchased prizes for library-sponsored competitions, and helped to support the creation of the mural in the building lobby, among other things. FOBL also supported the Brambleton Library staff and volunteers on various occasions for staff appreciation and support events. Each Spring FOBL provides scholarship opportunities to area high school seniors.
Please download an application. FOBL meets on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30pm and hosts approximately 2-3 events per year. Volunteer commitment level varies, but expect 3 - 5 hours a month. Student members are also welcome to apply (student applications are currently closed).
Consider purchasing FOBL swag like a mug, enamel pin, or tote bag, shopping our ongoing book sale (located in the building lobby AND on the second level of the library near the elevators), donating books/media, or shopping at our annual book sale in February. Donations are also accepted on our website via PayPal. Other support opportunites may be announced.
